Manuel Peralta

Postdoctoral Research Associate

Originally from Argentina, Manuel holds a PhD in Biological Sciences from the National University of Río Cuarto (UNRC). He brings a rich multidisciplinary background spanning molecular biology, microbiology, functional genomics, molecular biophysics, and redox biology.
His scientific journey has taken him from Argentina to France:
- During his PhD, he investigated arsenic detoxification mechanisms in crops.
- At the Leloir Institute in Buenos Aires, he explored plant biology using functional genomics and genome-wide association studies (GWAS) in Arabidopsis thaliana.
- In 2023, he moved to France as a Marie Skłodowska-Curie COFUND Fellow at the IBPC in Paris, where he investigated oxidative stress in budding yeast.

Manuel will bring his expertise in redox signaling, functional genomics, and systems biology to investigate plant-microbe interactions, contributing to our efforts to better understand bacterial colonization and its implications for sustainable agriculture.
